Are you looking to rehome your pet?

In addition to the Saving Train Program, SoHumane also maintains an intake program for local surrenders to the facility. SoHumane cannot accept lost, stray, or abandoned animals due to county regulations, but can accept animals that are surrendered by their current owners. Currently SoHumane is only able to accept cats and dogs into the adoption program. Intakes are done by appointment during the week Monday through Friday. Animals may need to be placed on a waiting list if space is not immediately available.

Rehoming your pet with SoHumane

To qualify for SoHumane’s Adoption program, animals must be friendly towards people and other animals, allow a stranger to handle their body, feet, teeth, ears, etc. Medical and behavioral issues are handled on a case by case basis. Cats and dogs will be subject to an assessment to see how they will acclimate to a shelter environment.  Once an animal is accepted into SoHumane’s adoption program, they will not be euthanized for time or space.  If an animal is not able to be accepted into the adoption program, SoHumane will try to provide additional resources for rehoming.
